The Seatsurance plan provides coverage for the interior component surfaces of your vehicle, such as seats and center console lids. Coverage is limited to the specific vehicle enrolled in the plan and does not extend to any other vehicles or components not listed in the plan. If your vehicle requires repairs covered under the plan, the plan provider will arrange for a qualified technician to perform repairs at a location within a 100-mile radius of Austin, Texas.
It is important to note that the plan only covers the cost of repairs and if the required repairs exceed the coverage limit of $1,000, the plan holder will be responsible for covering the remaining costs.
To be eligible for coverage under the plan, your vehicle must:
- Be a passenger car, truck, or SUV.
- Be 3 years old or younger at the time of enrollment.
- Have 36,000 miles or less on the odometer at the time of enrollment.
- Be in good condition, free from any pre-existing damage to the interior components.
- Be registered and titled in the state of Texas.
The plan does not cover damage caused by intentional or criminal acts, such as vandalism or theft, accidents, collisions, or other external impacts, fire, flood, or other natural disasters, pets or other animals, misuse or abuse of the vehicle’s interior components, such as burns, cuts, or scratches from sharp objects, use of inappropriate cleaning products or techniques, repairs performed outside the designated service area (100-mile radius of Austin, Texas), and repairs performed by technicians not approved by the plan provider.
To enroll in the plan, you must complete the enrollment form and pay the applicable fee. The enrollment form will require you to provide your name and contact information, the make, model, and year of your vehicle, the vehicle identification number (VIN), and the date of purchase and odometer reading at the time of purchase. A non-refundable upfront payment is required, and that will cover the plan for one year.
To make a claim, you must provide proof of the damage and contact the plan administrator within 30 days of the damage occurring. The plan administrator will arrange for repairs to be made by a qualified service provider. The Seatsurance plan covers repairs for damage to the interior components of the covered vehicle caused by normal wear and tear, accidental spills, stains, and pet damage. However, certain limitations and exclusions apply.
Repairs will only be made to the components of the seats and center console that are covered under the plan. If any components of the seats or console are not repairable, the customer will be responsible for the cost of the replacement part or item, but the installation will be covered under the plan. The plan does not cover repairs for faulty electronic items, such as wiring harnesses, seat motors, seat heaters, etc. Repairs under the plan cannot exceed $1,000 per year.
The Seatsurance plan is non-transferable to a new owner of the registered vehicle, and it cannot be transferred to another vehicle. The plan is only valid for the original purchaser of the plan, and it cannot be sold, assigned, or otherwise transferred to any other person or vehicle. The non-transferability of the plan is intended to prevent fraud and abuse and ensure that the plan is used only for the intended purpose of protecting the interior components of the registered vehicle.
It is important to carefully review the terms and conditions of any plan before enrolling to ensure that you understand the claims process, repair procedures, and obligations of the plan.
